"I first met Mooji in Tiruvannamalai south India in 2008. It was a chance meeting as I had never heard of him or Satsang before. I entered a packed rooftop at SP guesthouse about a mile away from Ramana Maharshi’s ashram and took a seat on the floor alongside many other seekers who were attending the morning gathering. I listened to Mooji address several questions on the nature of the Self, awakening, and spiritual realisation which I very much enjoyed.

 

Just as the meeting was coming to an end I found myself raising my hand and Mooji invited me up to speak with him. My dilemma for several years had been whether to stay in my profession as a school teacher or to follow a deep spiritual calling that was revealing itself inexorably within me. Most of our conversation was later published in his book 'The Breath of the Absolute' under the title 'The Original Being'. 

 

Mooji encouraged me to fully follow the calling of the Heart and to trust in that power completely. He reminded me of the importance of Self-discovery and reassured me that life would support a move like this. I'll always be grateful for this initial meeting and have reflected upon it many times since. I am also grateful for the subsequent encounters and support that followed. He saw something in me which at the time I was unable to see in myself, and he spoke with an authority and presence that touched me very deeply. Many years have passed since this first meeting but the words, the energy, and the core message remain the same.
